Orochi Network is honored to participate in the ZK Spring Residency program, which takes place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during March and April of 2023. The program, hosted by EF PSE and 0xPARC, aims to bring together individuals and teams who are focused on using zero-knowledge cryptography in practical settings and facilitate knowledge sharing across various parts of the zero-knowledge (ZK) stack.
The ZK Spring Residency is a four-week intensive program that brings together individuals and teams who are focused on utilizing zero-knowledge cryptography in practical settings. The program will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during March and April of 2023.
During the ZK Spring Residency program, Orochi Network presented about zkWASM arithmetization, an approach to implementing zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) systems using WebAssembly (WASM). As part of this presentation, the benefits of WebAssembly were discussed.
WebAssembly is a standard for portable opcode that can be executed anywhere, making it CPU architecture independent and operating system independent. This means that code compiled to WebAssembly can be run on a variety of devices, from desktops to mobile phones. Additionally, WebAssembly can be compiled from popular programming languages, such as C++, Rust, and TypeScript, which makes it accessible to a wide range of developers.
The use cases of zkWASM were also discussed during the presentation. These use cases include off-chain smart contracts, proof of exploitation, private verifiable computation, and in-browser provers, etc.. Off-chain smart contracts are a type of smart contract that can execute outside of the blockchain, allowing for more complex computations. Proof of exploitation involves using ZKP to prove that a specific vulnerability in a system has been exploited. Private verifiable computation allows for computation to be done on sensitive data without revealing the data itself. In-browser provers enable the use of ZKP in web applications, enhancing the privacy and security of these applications.
By discussing the benefits of WebAssembly and the use cases of zkWASM, Orochi Network demonstrated the potential of these technologies to enhance the security and privacy of decentralized applications. Our participation in the ZK Spring Residency program highlighted the commitment to exploring new and innovative cryptographic techniques and contributing to the development of more secure and decentralized systems in the future.
Moreover, during the ZK Spring Residency, we also participate in discussions related to low-level circuit primitives, proof aggregation, recursion, and composition, application prototypes, proof systems, developer tools and infrastructure, and security and verification.
We also engage in conversations related to the development of best practices for designing, implementing, and reviewing ZK circuits. Our participation in this program aligns with our mission of leveraging blockchain technology to create a more decentralized and secure future. By participating in the ZK Spring Residency, we hope to expand our knowledge of zero-knowledge proof cryptography and explore how this technique can be applied to various use cases.
