Orochi’s Verifiable Data Pipeline: Going Beyond Data Availability

November 4, 2025

4 mins read

Orochi is transforming blockchain data with our Zero-Knowledge Data Availability Layer (zkDA Layer). Using ZKPs, we’ve built a Verifiable Data Pipeline, ensuring every step is cryptographically verified. Here’s a look at how it works and why it matters.

Orochi is pushing the boundaries of what's possible with data on the blockchain. At the heart of our approach is the Zero-Knowledge Data Availability Layer (zkDA Layer). Using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), we’ve built what we call a Verifiable Data Pipeline - meaning every step, from data sampling to storage and retrieval, is backed by cryptographic proof.
In this blog, we’d like to share a closer look at how this innovation works and why it matters.

What is a Data Pipeline?

Before getting into Orochi’s Verifiable Data Pipeline, let’s first understand what a data pipeline is.
A data pipeline is a process that prepares raw data for analysis. Organizations gather data from various sources, like apps and IoT devices, but raw data is rarely useful until it’s organized, filtered, and formatted. By moving data through a pipeline, companies can clean, verify, and analyze it, supporting projects like data visualizations and machine learning.

How It Works

Data Sources Data flows into the pipeline from sources such as apps, devices, or databases, often collected through APIs or webhooks in real-time or at scheduled intervals.
Transformations As data moves, it’s refined through operations like sorting, filtering, and validating to make it analysis-ready.
Dependencies Some processes rely on others, affecting data flow speed - either for technical reasons (like waiting for a queue) or business approvals.
Destinations Finally, data reaches its destination - often a data warehouse or analytics tool - where it’s ready for insights and decision-making.

Why Verifiability Matters

Trust and transparency are foundational to blockchain applications, especially in decentralized systems. However, in a traditional data pipeline setup, there is often limited visibility into whether the data was modified in an unauthorized way.
A traditional data pipeline may involve moving data from various sources to a destination like a data warehouse or storage system, with steps that may include cleaning, filtering, and summarizing. In contrast, a verifiable pipeline logs cryptographic proofs of each transformation and transfer, ensuring data fidelity.
Industries under strict regulations, such as healthcare (HIPAA) and finance (SOX), often require proof that data handling meets regulatory standards. A verifiable data pipeline simplifies compliance by providing a clear, tamper-proof record of data handling. For instance, in healthcare, patient data needs to be handled in ways that protect privacy and maintain integrity. Verifiable pipelines provide cryptographic evidence that data was managed securely and compliantly, reducing audit burdens and legal risks.

Orochi’s Verifiable Data Pipeline

The Verifiable Data Pipeline ensures that blockchain data is not only available but verifiable. By using cryptographic proofs at each step, Orochi guarantees the integrity of data as it moves through the pipeline:
  • Sampling: Data is collected and verified in a trustworthy manner.
  • Storage: Data is stored immutably with proof of its integrity.
  • Retrieval: Data retrieval is verified to ensure it matches the original data

Orochi Verifiable Data Pipeline includes:

Verifiable Sampling

This module establishes a new ability to access Real World Data from the Execution Layer and generate corresponding cryptography proof of the sampling process. This approach is thus a breakthrough in Web3 to terminate third-party trust in oracle.

Verifiable Processing

This module transforms raw data into structured data before storing it in an immutable storage.

Lookup Prover

This module is a ZK circuit that proves proof-of-membership and lookup process by employing ZKP we prevent the sequencer from feeding wrong malicious data

Transform Prover

This module handles data manipulation and then generates a ZKP that proves the transformation.
Each data transformation step is backed by a cryptographic proof, so even if someone attempted to alter the data mid-process, the proofs would reveal the change immediately. This is particularly important in decentralized applications, where no single authority has control, and users rely on the transparency of the system itself.

Conclusion

In a truly decentralized Web3, Orochi will play a key role in providing a comprehensive Verifiable Data Pipeline, offering verifiable data integrity, proof-of-everything for enhanced trust, and interoperability through zk-rollups. This combination empowers developers to build secure and reliable Web3 applications with confidence.
Our Verifiable Data Pipeline is in the second phase of development as we build zkDA Layer. As we advance, maintaining data integrity and ensuring data availability remains central to our vision, guiding our steady progress forward.
